Over The Borderline: My Experience Living with BPD

Hello. Welcome to the thoughts of a woman living with Borderline Personality Disorder. I will make you a few promises.

First, I will always tell you the truth. Everything you read is my truth, except for specific names. Remember, though, that the truth is subjective. This is my truth and my perception of the truth may not be the same as those who experienced it with me. Furthermore, it won’t be exactly the same as others with similar experiences or those living with BPD.

Second, I encourage everyone to educate themselves about mental health and mental illness. Whether you are surviving with a diagnosis or have a loved one who is, being sensitive to the fact that mental illness affects most people at one point or another, in some form, to some degree, makes it our duty as human beings to learn all that we can- and to share our stories to help others when we can.

Lastly, I promise not to judge. I encourage questions, comments, research… anything you feel moved to contribute. I will never be offended by curiosity. Please, please, please, though, remember to be courteous to me and anyone else you interact with on this blog. This is intended to be a safe space. Well, let’s get to it.
